Austin Business Journal reports, "pieces are falling into place for a new luxury single-family community in Dripping Springs, including its name.
Nashville-based Southern Land Company LLC said March 1 the neighborhood, first revealed in January 2022, will be called Lunaroya. Prices for the 28 homes will start at "under $2 million," said Jenna Lefever, SLC director of public relations.
Infrastructure work has been underway on the 70-acre community since the third third quarter of 2022 and home construction is expected to begin in September 2023.
The floor plans and square footage range of Lunaroya’s homes are still being finalized, Lefever said. The neighborhood will consist of 10 1.5-acre home sites and 18 two-acre home sites across the roughly 70-acre development.
"We wanted to provide larger tracts of land out there that can fit into the Hill Country environment," Dan Hutts, president of SLC’s Hill Country Region homebuilding group, said in February 2022. "We want to embrace the open space that we have out there."
Lunaroya is located near Treaty Oak Distilling at the end of Silver Creek Road. Of the 28 home sites, 20 will back up Barton Creek.
All homes at Lunaroya will be built by SLC's in-house homebuilding group, SLC Homes, and are being designed by its in-house architecture team.
Lunaroya is SLC's first project in the Hill Country, according to the announcement. The company first announced its expansion into Travis, Hays, Burnet and Comal counties in October 2021.
SLC made its name building mixed-use and master-planned communities in places such as Colorado, Tennessee and North Texas. In December 2022, SLC’s flagship master-planned community in Franklin, Tennessee won a silver Best in American Living award in the mixed-use, single-family category, presented by the National Association of Home Builders."
