Denver-based Richmond American Homes will build 121 homes in the 2,067-acre Whisper Valley development, according to an announcement. The homebuilder is active in 16 states, according to its website, and joins several Central Texas homebuilders and one international builder already active in Whisper Valley, which has been an epicenter for innovation in sustainable housing in Central Texas.

New Home Co. will build on 105 homesites on this tract on the western edge of Georgetown. NEW HOME CO.

Austin Business Journal shares, "A California-based homebuilder is making a splash in Georgetown’s Bluffview neighborhood, where it purchased 105 homesites for more than $17 million.

New Home Co., which made its Texas debut in 2023 with the purchase of Katy-based Hamilton Thomas Homes, is now building new homes in the Austin region, according to an announcement. In addition to homes in Bluffview, it's at work building homes in Buda and Kyle, and it has plans to grow further, New Home Co. CEO Matthew Zaist said.

The 105 homesites in Bluffview consist of 65 lots with 50-foot frontages and 40 lots with 60-foot frontages, Zaist said. Homes on the lots will range from 2,100 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet.

Empire Continental Land, the Texas land division of residential builder and developer Empire Communities, announced March 18 that work had begun on the project. Flora, as it is called, will rise on more than 800 acres and have nearly 3,000 homes once complete. It’s yet another example of massive neighborhoods sprouting in largely rural areas of the metro as Samsung Electronics Co. Houston-based Ashton Gray Development recently gained approval from the Elgin City Council to annex 75 acres into Briarwood, a housing development and the city's first municipal utility district. Salt Lake City-based developer Areté Collective LP has been toiling away on the first phase of construction — a private residential community named Loraloma — while Wasatch Premier Properties recently came on board to build hundreds of multifamily units on another 58 acres west of Austin. Areté Collective recently sold the 58 acres to Wasatch, an arm of Utah-based Wasatch Group, according to a Jan. 30 announcement.

In August, the builder is offering a variety of promotions, such as 50% off upgrades on to-be-built homes or a 4.75% fixed rate on quick move-in homes—available in Pflugerville, Georgetown, Liberty Hill and Manor—at no cost to customers.

According to a news release, GFO Home has homes for sale at pre-grand-opening prices in two new Austin-area communities: Saddleback at Santa Rita Ranch in Liberty Hill, opening in September, and Enclave at Cele in Pflugerville, opening in October. GFO is also starting a new community in Leander near the San Gabriel River.

Cedar Park-based PrimeHaven Homes LLC is navigating the permitting process for its Sonora project on Kramer Lane but leaders hope to break ground at the start of 2024, said Naeem Mahesania, one a partner in the company.

Austin Business Journal reports, "the first phase of construction on Thomas Ranch, a 2,200-acre luxury community near Spicewood, is set to begin later this month.

Salt Lake City-based developer Areté Collective LP plans to break ground June 15, according to an announcement from late May. The first-phase neighborhood will be called Loraloma and have more than 400 homes and a golf course — although a builder is still needed.

Loraloma will be home to about 450 cottages, villas, estates and custom homesites, said Joe Rentfro, Thomas Ranch managing director.

"Our intention was to cater to a wide variety of individuals seeking a fresh take on Hill Country living without sacrificing the culture that rests at Austin’s core," Rentfro said.
