Austin Business Journal writes, "A Dallas-based developer is proposing to turn a 220-acre parcel directly northeast of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s rising factory in Taylor into a data center campus.

KDC will be considered by the Taylor Planning and Zoning Commission on Nov. 12 for an employment center plan for the site at 1051 County Road 401 for what it's calling "Project Comal." Details are minimal, but it would have primary data center uses along with a small lot of space for commercial, civic and other uses, according to city documents.

KDC representatives declined to comment.

In 2024, KDC struck an agreement with the owner of the land to market and develop initially 150 acres at the site with build-to-suit opportunities. That land was…

Austin Business Journal reports, "A new 100-acre residential neighborhood could be coming to Taylor, where economic growth has been explosive thanks to Samsung’s 2,000-acre, multibillion-dollar semiconductor plant that's under construction in the city.

The development, called Turner Springs, would be home to single-family and multifamily residences as well as commercial and retail properties, according to Taylor Planning & Zoning Commission documents. The commission recommended the project for approval at its July 9 meeting.

If it comes to fruition, the project would be built on two properties that have been owned by an entity known as Turner Bobby Jr Etal since 2000, according to the Williamson Central Appraisal District. Insite…

Austin Business Journal writes, "Thousands of homes are headed to Hutto, where Houston-based Empire Continental Land LP is building a sprawling new neighborhood.

Empire Continental Land, the Texas land division of residential builder and developer Empire Communities, announced March 18 that work had begun on the project. Flora, as it is called, will rise on more than 800 acres and have nearly 3,000 homes once complete. It’s yet another example of massive neighborhoods sprouting in largely rural areas of the metro as Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Tesla Inc. and other companies expand in the region and spur population growth.
