The company is used to installing pools at apartment complexes and even a high-rise or two, but this project was at a completely other level.

Austin Business Journal reports, "Thousands of trees have made way for the next phase of a neighborhood offering lakeside living.

ABJ Photojournalist Dave Creaney and his drone were out and about in the Lake Travis area recently, and in this neck of the woods he found notably more water than usual due to the weather but significantly fewer trees due to demand for housing.

Lakeside at Tessera has been rising in the Lago Vista suburb for a few years. Homebuilders include Coventry Homes, Highland Homes, Saratoga Homes, Toll Brothers Homes, Trophy Signature Homes and Westin Homes. A private boat dock and pool will be among the amenities.

In Austin, the more things change the more they stay the same.

While Stonelake Capital Partners is about to add another high rise to the Austin skyline, the company is set on preserving the historic Old Depot Hotel next door. This week, the Austin Design Commission recommended the project for a downtown density bonus, which lets buildings rise taller than is typically allowed, the Austin Business Journal reported.

To qualify for the Downtown Density Bonus Program, a project must either incorporate affordable housing or pay a fee. Stonelake has opted for the latter — to the tune of $4.5 million.
