MYSA writes, "Got a spare $1 million lying around? A record number of Texas homes on the market sold for $1 million or more over the last year, a marked increase compared to 2024 figures.

Between November 2024 and October 2025, Texas Realtors found more than 14,400 homes sold over the million-dollar threshold, according to Texas Realtors' 2025 Texas Sales of Million-Dollar Homes Report released last week. Those figures represented a 12% jump in million-dollar homes sold on Texas' real estate market, amounting to $24.5 billion in home sales.

In tandem with the record-number of homes sold, there were also more than 4,000 additional seven-digit homes on the market in 2025, clocking in at 32,793 listings compared to 28,325 in 2024. While still a small slice of Texas' real estate pie at just 4.3% of all Lone Star home sales, those properties accounted for more than 17% of residential sales made in Texas.

"High-end homes continue to be a small but mighty segment of the market," said Jennifer Wauhob, chairman of Texas Realtors, said in the January 7 release. "Texans remain confident in the value of these properties, whether they are drawn to outstanding amenities, prime locations, or both."

When evaluating individual Texas metros, the Dallas-Fort Worth area contributed to 38% of those million-dollar home sales made via 5,485 home sales. The Houston metro landed in second at a 27% share and 3,948 homes sold.

In Texas' capital city, the Austin metro represented a 19% home sale share courtesy 2,714 home sales, with San Antonio clocking in at 5% and 736 home sales above the $1 million marker.
