Austin Business Journal shares, "A California-based homebuilder is making a splash in Georgetown’s Bluffview neighborhood, where it purchased 105 homesites for more than $17 million.
New Home Co., which made its Texas debut in 2023 with the purchase of Katy-based Hamilton Thomas Homes, is now building new homes in the Austin region, according to an announcement. In addition to homes in Bluffview, it's at work building homes in Buda and Kyle, and it has plans to grow further, New Home Co. CEO Matthew Zaist said.
The 105 homesites in Bluffview consist of 65 lots with 50-foot frontages and 40 lots with 60-foot frontages, Zaist said. Homes on the lots will range from 2,100 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet.
New Home Co. expects to begin home sales and debut its model homes in late 2025. Homes on the 50-foot lots are expected to start in the low-$600,000 range, while homes on the 60-foot lots are expected to start in the $700,000 range, Zaist said.
The company bought the homesites from Riverside Resources, according to the announcement.
New Home Co. has two other communities in Buda and in Kyle. The 6 Creeks neighborhood in Kyle has 42 lots, with the model home opening in February this year. In Buda, Porch at DuPre has 54 homesites, and the model home opened in March.
The homebuilder is growing its Austin office. It leases space at 10800 Pecan Park Blvd. in Northwest Austin but is moving into a larger office in that same building “to prepare for our current and anticipated growth,” Zaist said.
“With operations in Houston and Austin, we entered the second and fourth largest homebuilding markets in the nation, both of which feature dynamic, robust, and growing job bases fueled by diversified industries including manufacturing, healthcare, technology, trade and energy,” Zaist said. “We’re in the midst of growing and scaling our business in Houston and Austin, and we plan to expand throughout the state in years to come.”"
