Lake Travis looks dramatically different than it did not long ago.

Following significant Hill Country rainfall and inflows in July 2026, Lake Travis rose above its 681-foot full water-supply elevation and into its flood pool. LCRA began floodgate operations at Mansfield Dam for the first time since 2019, and Lakes Travis and Buchanan were filled for water-supply purposes for the first time since 2019.

As this article is published in late August 2026, Lake Travis remains near full. LCRA reported the lake at approximately 679.1 feet above mean sea level on August 25.
