"Leander annexes over 300 acres for new neighborhood"

Austin Business Journal shares, "Leander is one of the fastest-growing cities in the metro, and that growth is poised to continue.

Leander City Council annexed more than 300 acres for a new subdivision, called Oakwood Hills, in May that will add about 200 homes to the suburb northwest of Austin.

The project is being developed by 23244 Nameless Rd. LLC.

Oakwood Hills is located on 337 acres at 23244 Nameless Road on the western edge of Leander, according to council documents. The land is currently undeveloped, and developers are proposing to build single-family homes on 174 one- to two-acre lots.

Austin Business Journal shares, "Austin has been outshone by its suburbs recently in terms of affordability and population growth, and U.S. News & World Report's latest ranking of the "best places to live" in the country continues the trend.

"March median home prices drop year over year in Cedar Park"

Community Impact shares, "The median home sale price in the Cedar Park and Far Northwest Austin areas declined slightly for March 2025 when compared to the previous year.

The median home price in March 2024 was about $530,233, compared to $500,000 in 2025. The number of new and active listings also increased, while the region showed a slight decline in closed sales and homes under contract.

The 78726 ZIP code in northwest Austin saw a steep decrease in the number of homes sold when compared to the same time in 2024. The region dropped by 55.56% year over year, dropping from nine houses sold in 2024 to only four in 2025. "New build-to-rent neighborhood aims to inject housing into fast-growing Leander"

Austin Business Journal reports, "A new build-to-rent neighborhood is opening in one of the fastest-growing neighborhoods in Leander.

Tricon Residential Inc., part of Blackstone Real Estate’s portfolio, is opening Tricon Bryson — a build-to-rent neighborhood consisting of 155 single-family homes — within Leander's wider Bryson development, according to an announcement. The new neighborhood will add to the region’s rental housing supply in Leander, where the U.S. Census Bureau estimates the population has more than tripled since 2010.

But what about when you venture outside of city limits? That honor belongs to Cedar Park's 78613 ZIP code, which came in at No. 18 on the list.

"Georgetown is fastest-growing city of its size for third-straight year"

Austin Business Journal writes, "For the third-straight year, Georgetown is the fastest-growing city of at least 50,000 people by percent change, according to an analysis of data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Other Austin-area cities weren't far behind.

Georgetown's population reached 96,312 last year, according to newly released city-level data for the 12-month period spanning July 2022 to July 2023. That represents a gain of roughly 9,250 people from the year before — the eighth most in the country among cities of any size based on numeric gains.

"What it takes to own a home in Austin's wealthiest ZIP codes"

Austin Business Journal Reports, "the Austin-Round Rock metro area became slightly more affordable for homebuyers in 2023, but it’s still much more expensive to own within Austin's city limits than almost anywhere else in the region.

That’s according to recent data from Zillow Group Inc. analyzed by the Business Journals. In each of the metro's ZIP codes, the minimum annual income required to purchase a typical home declined anywhere from 4% to 18% in 2023, as of Nov. 30, compared to 2022, the analysis found. Annual mortgage payments also dropped, while median home values declined at a rate of 1% to 13% across the region.
