Two national homebuilders have partnered up to buy more than 200 acres between Georgetown and Round Rock.

Taylor Morrison and M/I Homes bought Georgetown 220, a roughy 220-acre tract near the intersection of University Boulevard and State Highway 130, according to an announcement. The undeveloped land was sold for an undisclosed price by a joint venture between Ascent Investment Partners and Endeavor Real Estate Group.

Neither Taylor Morrison nor M/I Homes responded to requests for comment, and it's unclear how many homes each plans to build at the site. But the land is already entitled for single-family development, said Rydern Byrne, an investment associate at Ascent Investment Partners.

Austin Business Journal shares, "More homes are going to hit the market in 2026 — but don’t expect home prices to drop in the near future.

A new report by the National Association of Realtors predicts existing-home sales will jump by 14% in 2026. That’s because of a combination of dropping mortgage rates and improving market stability after several years.

But, despite the number of new homes hitting the market, prices are still projected to go up by 4% in 2026, as demand remains steady and supply remains lower than normal.

“Next year is really the year that we will see a measurable increase in sales,” said NAR National Economist Lawrence Yun. “Home prices nationwide are in no danger of declining.”

Mortgage rates are projected to go down…

Austin Business Journal writes, "Home sales have slowed in many parts of the country, most noticeably in Covid-era hotspots that doubled down on new construction. In some cases, frustrated sellers are even deciding to delist their homes rather than face steep price cuts.

But there are still plenty of hot housing markets both locally and across the nation. Despite a multitude of challenges and a shifting market, the national average for days on the market was essentially flat — inching up from 84 in the second quarter to 85 in the third quarter.

That's according to The Business Journals' latest quarterly analysis of the country’s hottest housing markets based on listing and sales data from Intercontinental Exchange Inc.

The ranking isn’t meant…

Austin Business Journal writes, "A Dallas-based developer is proposing to turn a 220-acre parcel directly northeast of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s rising factory in Taylor into a data center campus.

KDC will be considered by the Taylor Planning and Zoning Commission on Nov. 12 for an employment center plan for the site at 1051 County Road 401 for what it's calling "Project Comal." Details are minimal, but it would have primary data center uses along with a small lot of space for commercial, civic and other uses, according to city documents.

KDC representatives declined to comment.

In 2024, KDC struck an agreement with the owner of the land to market and develop initially 150 acres at the site with build-to-suit opportunities. That land was…

MYSA.com writes, "If you're looking for a new home, one Central Texas city just might have exactly what you need. Texas' capital city was recently recognized for having the strongest market in America for homebuyers, according to a new Redfin report.

The online real estate brokerage crowned Austin with the No. 1 spot on its top 10 list of the strongest buyers markets of September 2025. All but two of Redfin's best buyers markets were in Florida or Texas, with major cities like San Antonio, Houston and Dallas also in the mix.

To determine the rankings, Redfin analyzed the 50 most populous U.S. metropolitan areas using proprietary data on the typical time from a buyer’s first tour to close of purchase, MLS data on active listings and pending sales.…

CultureMap Austin shares, "One of Austin's oldest clubs is doubling its tenure in town with a 50-year lease. Antone's Nightclub, which is wrapping up its 50-year anniversary celebrations in 2025, will stay open at 305 E. 5th St. until at least 2075, when it will celebrate its 100th anniversary.

The business announced the lease extension on social media. It attributed the extension to a grant by real estate nonprofit Rally Austin, formerly the Austin Economic Development Corporation, and the building's owner. Rally Austin steps in to preserve properties it considers important to the community, centering "purpose instead of profit," according to its website.

In addition to insulating the venue from real estate changes over the next five decades,…

Housingwire writes, "Austin’s housing market showed the sharpest shift toward buyers among Texas’ major metros, with 53.4% of active listings taking price cuts as of Nov. 1, 2025. The Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos metro’s median list price dropped to $499,000 from $525,231 a year earlier, marking a $26,231 decline.

The divergence across the Texas Triangle metros reveals how even neighboring markets can experience different conditions. The Texas Triangle—a megaregion formed by Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin that houses the vast majority of Texans—shows varying market dynamics despite geographic proximity. While Austin and San Antonio moved into buyer-favorable territory, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston maintained neutral conditions…
