Austin Business Journal reports, "the first 50 homesites have been sold at Travis Club, an incoming luxury neighborhood on Lake Travis. It's set to rise on more than a thousands acres 15 miles west of downtown Austin.
These first homeowners are being recognized as the “50 founding memberships” of the resort-style community that is being developed by Menlo Park, California-based real estate developer Haas & Haynie Corp. and Austin-based real estate investment firm Castle Hill Partners Inc., according to a Nov. 1 announcement.
This marks a notable step forward for the project that has been planned for more than a decade on the undeveloped bend of Lake Travis between Thurman Bend Estates and the Briarcliff community. This area, and just about all other land west of downtown Austin, has always been a haven for Central Texas' wealthiest households.
When completed, Travis Club will include 497 homes – 274 single-family lots and 223 villa units. The properties are being listed between $775,000 and $3 million on plots ranging from half an acre to roughly three acres.
Bee Cave-based custom home builder Jenkins Design Build is actively marketing its services on the project.
The community will include an 18-hole golf course, more than 10,000 linear feet of waterfront from Lake Travis, an extensive club campus and more than 30 miles of exclusive hiking and biking trails. The new plots come on the market as work continues at the newly rebranded West Lake Country Club to the south of the new development — another example of the region's growing wealth.
The recent sales follow the July 2023 approval of a site plan and variances for the planned community regarding the project’s water management approved in 2022.
Construction of the first phase the project, including 106 homesites, is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with golf course construction starting in the spring of 2024.
Hart Howerton, an architecture, planning and landscape design firm, is working on the development, along with Beau Welling Design, a golf course architecture firm that created the recently completed Fields Ranch West at PGA Frisco in the Dallas area.
“We're encouraged by the early success of the Travis Club Founders offering, hitting our cap of 50 Founding Memberships in just over 90 days," stated Michael Tomnitz, director of sales for Travis Club. "In my 22 years of experience selling luxury real estate, this has been the quickest start to finish of any Founders’ offering I've been a part of, which speaks to the strong combination of the development team, an outstanding piece of land, and private lake and golf access in a primary home location with a great Lake Travis ISD school system. We're excited to open the waitlist for homesite reservations.""
